Hope Lost
A downloadable game
Hope Lost features 6 different apocalypses to play through, each with their own objective and unique spin to the game’s common mechanics. Players will need to fight the apocalypses as well as time itself, all the while trying to make sure the survivors at the base have everything they need. Will you survive the apocalypse, or is all hope lost?
In Hope Lost you're tasked with sending out your crew of 4 survivors to the 6 locations surrounding the base, have them search for resources, and use those resources to feed victims, heal wounds, and complete scenario-specific objectives.
In the meantime, the apocalypse rains hell from above, below, and just generally all directions.
With 3 actions per survivor per round and only 6 rounds to complete your objective, time is of the essence...
Featuring 6 apocalypses to play through:
- Armageddon
- Alien Invasion
- Awakening of the Ancient One
- The Great Flood
- Nuclear Winter
- Zombie Outbreak

Is this game still being developed? :(
It absolutely is, just need to finalize a few more assets - please bear with me a little longer!
Ahhhh yesss! 💙
A little longer turned out to be a few months, but it's here now!
I already bought it from the catalog today!!!!
Thanks so much, appreciate it - hope you enjoy!
Nice! Super excited to see the other scenarios.
I hope you're still excited, as the game is out!
Solid gameplay and great UI / UX implementation on the Playdate for this kind of turn-based board-game-originating game. Looking forward to the full version!
Look forward no further! It's here!
Hi, really enjoying the demo, was looking to buy the full version but wonder if I'm either missing something or if the full version is not out yet (I can only see an option on this page to download the demo, but the game still shows a $6 option for payment which I presume is the full game?). Any help is much appreciated, thanks!
Hey! Thanks for playing the demo, glad you're enjoying it! Yeah the $6 is just the price I set initially, the game hasn't launched yet - but it will soon! I expect within the next month or so, depending on how quickly the last bits go. I'll be sure to post a devlog too which I think notifies followers? Not sure how itch works exactly lol
ah, brilliant, no worries and thanks for the reply, will check back and try to make it a day one purchase if I get notified (I’m not sure how itch works either tbh). It’s a really great idea and really well executed, will be excited to see the full game out!
Just in case the devlog doesn't do it - here's a poke for the game releasing! Appreciate your enthusiasm!
thanks so much - I saw it on catalog, will be getting a copy later today, very excited!
Looks cool! I will try both the playdate demo and the print and play version.
Thanks, hope you enjoy it! Would love to hear your thoughts
I haven't tried the print and play version yet (i dont have that many dice xD) but this version is quite fun. It feels a bit easy, but maybe the other modes are more challenging. Does the physical version have the same rules?
I'm eager to try the final version! It goes really well on playdate.
Glad you had fun! Armageddon is the easiest scenario to win, yeah - the others crank up the difficulty quite a bit.
The physical game does use the same rules, though at launch it was a bit rough balance-wise. I'm trying to fix that in this release, and then backport any changes to the physical game once I'm happy with how it all works.
And of course the other way around - you can have a look at the print-and-play rules to get a decent feel for how the other scenarios change things up!
I know it's been a while since you posted this, but if you still feel the same way: The game's available now!
Nice!
